Back Week Courses Gallery Raku Evening Salt Glaze Course Weekend Courses Fees Booking Form

Every course begins informally with an excellent three course dinner and plenty of wine, giving a chance to settle in and meet your fellow potters.  This is usually a group of between 6-8, some total beginners, others with potting experience.

Each morning, after a substantial breakfast (or not if you can't face it!) tuition begins.

The timetable each day follows a similar pattern starting with demonstrations, which are followed by tuition and making.  A combination of frequent demonstrations, practical tips and personal tuition means that even those who have never touched clay before are soon making surprisingly successful pots.  We break at intervals for tea, coffee and lunch.  Formal tuition ends at about 4pm (often later).  Students are free to work on for as long as they like.

Salt Glaze Master Class

An opportunity to work alongside Deborah during the preparation and firing of the salt kiln.  Places are limited to 3 people per firing.

Evening Meals

Dinner on arrival and all breakfasts and lunches are included, but we do not provide a daily evening meal.  There are several local pubs and restaurants to explore, if you can tear yourself away from the studio!

Children and Young People

Children are welcome on the course but are the responsibility of their accompanying adult.  Young people, around 14 plus years, are also welcome as long as they are self reliant and it is understood that we are in no way responsible for them.

Non Resident Students

Those who live locally or have friends to stay with in the area are welcome to come in each day after breakfast.  They will still be included for dinner on arrival and for lunches daily.

Non Potting Companions

Non potting companions who would like to take advantage of the local sailing, bird watching, riding, walking, or just admire the scenery are welcome to stay on a bed and breakfast basis as long as they are sharing a room with a potter.
