Raku firing is the high spot of the week and exciting even for those familiar
with pottery. Everyone is involved in stoking the kiln with wood, putting
in pots, watching them mature in the flames, dropping the sizzling pots into hot
water, and finally pouncing enthusiastically on their own pots when they are
cooled. Jacket potatoes, sausages and wine to wash away the smoke all add
to a memorable evening. |
